Drew’s Fire Hiker — Handmade in Italy

The Drew’s Fire Hiker is handmade in Italy by experienced Italian bootmakers.

Italy has generations of experience producing some of the world's best hiking, mountaineering, and technical footwear, which made it a natural choice for the Fire Hiker.

We wanted to combine that European hiking-boot expertise with the requirements of American wildland firefighters.

The Fire Hiker features premium Italian cowhide leather, Kevlar® upper stitching, a fully leather-lined interior, supportive padded collar, and a Vibram® Fire Resistant outsole.

The result is a lightweight alternative to the traditional logger-style fire boot without giving up the durability and support required for demanding terrain.

Drew’s 1918 Collection — Made in the Dominican Republic

The Drew’s 1918 Collection is made in the Dominican Republic.

The idea behind the 1918 Collection was simple:

“A Working Man’s Boot at a Working Man’s Price.”

We wanted to build a serious leather work boot with many of the materials and construction methods we believe make a boot worth owning, while keeping the price accessible to the people who wear work boots every day.

That means features like heavy full-grain leather, leather heel counters, steel shanks, leather Goodyear welt construction, and work-ready outsoles.

The Dominican Republic has a long history of skilled footwear and leather-goods manufacturing, allowing us to build the 1918 Collection to our specifications while maintaining the value we wanted this collection to represent.

The Drew’s 1918 Collection includes styles such as our Moc Toe, Chelsea, Wellington, and safety-toe work boots.

These aren't intended to be disposable work boots.

They're built to work.

Drew’s Logger Boots — Made in the Dominican Republic

Our current Drew’s Logger Collection is made in the Dominican Republic by skilled bootmakers using the heavy-duty construction Drew’s customers expect from a traditional logger.

Logger boots are part of Drew’s DNA.

For generations, Drew’s has outfitted loggers, wildland firefighters, linemen, ranchers, and tradesmen throughout the West. When developing our current Logger Collection, our goal wasn't simply to build another work boot.

We wanted to preserve the characteristics that made traditional Pacific Northwest logger boots legendary.

That means thick leather, substantial leather components, serious arch support, Vibram Fire and Ice Rated Outsoles, rebuildable construction, and a boot made for long days in demanding conditions.

By partnering with experienced craftsmen in the Dominican Republic, we're able to offer a traditional Drew’s logger at a more competitive price while maintaining the construction and materials that matter.

Drew’s Dress Chelsea Boots — Handmade in León, Mexico

Our Drew’s Dress Chelsea Boots are handmade in León, Mexico.

León is one of the great leather and footwear-producing regions of the world. Generations of craftsmen there have built their livelihoods around tanning leather and making quality footwear.

For the Drew’s Dress Chelsea, we wanted something different from our heavy work boots.

The goal was a refined leather boot that still felt like a Drew’s: quality leather, traditional craftsmanship, durability, and a boot that gets better with age.

Working with skilled bootmakers in León allows us to combine Drew’s design philosophy with generations of Mexican leatherworking and bootmaking experience.

Drew’s Trevor & Western Boots — Handmade in León, Mexico

Our Drew’s Trevor and Western Boots are also handmade in León, Mexico.

And there's a good reason for that.

León is internationally known for leather and cowboy boot manufacturing. The city and surrounding region have generations of experience working with leather and producing Western footwear.

When we're building a Drew’s cowboy boot, we want it made by people who understand cowboy boots.

From leather selection and stitching to lasting, shaping, and finishing, Western boots require their own set of skills. Our craftsmen in León bring that experience to the Drew’s Western collection.

The result is a Western boot that combines Drew’s heritage in the American West with the bootmaking tradition of León.

Why Doesn't Drew’s Make Every Boot in the Same Factory?

Because different boots require different expertise.

A wildland fire hiker isn't built like a Packer.

A Packer isn't built like a dress Chelsea.

And a traditional logger isn't built like a cowboy boot.

Instead of forcing every Drew’s boot into the same factory, we look for craftsmen who are exceptionally good at the type of footwear we're asking them to build.

That takes us to different parts of the world.

United States: Traditional handmade Drew’s work, fire, Logger-style and Packer boots.

Italy: Technical hiking and wildland firefighting footwear.

Dominican Republic: Heavy-duty work boots, the 1918 Collection, and Drew’s Logger Collection.

León, Mexico: Western boots, cowboy boots, and dress footwear.

Different factories. Different specialties.

Is Drew’s Boots an American Company?

Yes.

Drew’s was founded in Oregon in 1918 and remains based in Oregon today.

Our roots go back to the Klamath Basin, where N.B. Drew took work clothing and footwear directly to the logging and fire camps of Southern Oregon and Northern California.

More than 100 years later, Drew’s is based in Eugene, Oregon, and we're still doing what the company has always done: finding and supplying quality boots for people who work for a living.

What has changed is our ability to work with talented craftsmen around the world.

What hasn't changed is what we're looking for.
